Counter-Strike: Source
Counter Strike: Source is one of the best and most played FPS games ever, im really addicted to it because theres so many maps to play and people are allways making new ones and so can you. In CSS there are two teams; Counter-terrorist and terrorist. There are games where the terrorist's have to plant the bomb at either site A or site B and games where the CT's have to rescue hostages. This game has alot of game modes that people make t suit the map. Some bright spark invented surf where you run down a ramp and fly then go onto another ramp and fight it out in certain places. Counter-Strike: Source has alot of gun choices and these are really accurate to the real things, CSS uses alot of tactics and skill, like using smoke, flash and frag grenades to your advantage. CSS runs off a program called steam which is good because it runs alot of other Multi-player games so you can add your css m8's talk to them out of css and fight them in other steam games. I strongy reccomend getting this awsome fps!
Counter strike is one of my favorite games of all time. For your standard shooter fan, you can play on servers with normal dm or cs maps.
But if you want to branch out, counter strike source has plenty of mods you can sink your teeth into. Take for instance surf maps, which generally contain ramps shaped like a triangle, and to "surf" them, you hold down D and A and use the mouse to direct your motion. These kind of maps can be used by the standard fps fan looking for a new thing to try, but it can also be used by people who are more strategic and like thinking on their toes. Skill surf maps are good for that, which emphasize tactics and overall skill instead of running and gunning. Some more mods that I can think of off the top of my head are Zombie mod, where teams are placed in a map with lots of hiding spots and are given a certain amount of time before a zombie is chosen, who has lots of health and can infect other players by using his or her knife. Also, gungame is another good mod, where players begin on the glock, with each kill they get they receive a better gun, leading up to the Para and ending with the grenade and finally the knife. The final, and rarest but equally fun maps are climb maps (which begin with xc_"mapname" generally). These maps are played exactly as they sound, with players climbing maps to get to the top. All in all, with hundreds of mods, this game remains interesting for every type of player.
Graphics: 9.5/10
It uses the source engine so it has great graphics. One of the best on the PC for sure.
Gameplay: 10/10
Great guns to choose from, great maps, and just plain fun. This game is just pure amazing. The hitbox is amazing. Not laggy at all. No problems whatsoever really to be honest.
Lasting Appeal: 10/10
The mod community is huge. You can find custom maps and things such as gungame and zombie modes are great. There is also a whole lot of skins for weapons and people and hostages. Great mod community. Great skins for guns. If you don't like a gun, just get a skin for it. Also, you can find redefined versions of the guns in the game except it looks HD which is great.
Overall: 10/10
Nothing really wrong with this game. It will definitely go down as one of the best multiplayer games and just a game in general in gaming history. If you don't have it, buy it. It comes with a pack of Half Life 2 Deathmatch and Day of Defeat Source.
