The Good: 'Vena Sera' is a much faster album than Chevelle's previous album 'This Type Of Thinking (Could Do Us In)'. While 'This Type Of Thinking' was a good CD, it wasn't as intense and fast as you wish it could have been and that is exactly what you'll get with 'Vena Sera.' Chevelle manages to be straight up hard rock while having their own style and not sounding like many other bands. Singer Pete Loeffler's voice manages to sound very strong and intense without having to scream the entire album and the rest of the band does a terrific job on their own right and holds their own with a great sound to them. This album is faster than Chevelle's previous work and there are a lot more songs on this album that have single potential than on their previous albums where the songs were all good but there weren't too many big hits.

The Bad: Fans of older Chevelle albums might be upset to know that this album is more upbeat and faster without many of the darker "cut your wrists" kind of lyrics. Other than this it is very hard to point out any problems that this album has, as it is an improvement over their other albums and there really aren't any problems at all.

Bottomline: 'Vena Sera' is truly a masterpiece that shouldn't be missed by anyone. Chevelle has raised the bar with their best album to date, and fans of their previous music, as well as any fan of rock music will appreciate and fall in love with this amazing album. 'Vena Sera' is easily the best album of 2007 so far and one of the best CD the past few years and you owe it to yourself to check out this magnificent album.
