General Posting Rules for eSoft.in Downloads

1. Working Appz Only - No demos or shareware shall be posted without a crack, serial, key, or working keygen. If a posted App is a Trial only, that fact shall be clearly stated in the post.

2. Capitilization in Titles - Never EVER use words in complete CAPITALS in your download title. For example:

Microsoft Windows XP -- Yes

MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP -- No

Microsoft WINDOWS XP --No

(Note: Acronyms/abbreviations & actual Titles are exempt from this rule.)

Filehost (NEW) - All filehosts allowed at eSoft.in Downloads but from today i.e. 11th December 2010 we have created a new rule that you must use filesonic.com links as a primary or mirror host.

(Please do not avoid this rule otherwise it will give you an infraction for every post you will post without filesonic.com links and if you will get 3 infractions you will be ban from eSoft.in Downloads so if you are still not registered with filesonic.com Click here to register and enjoy)

Rewards: Uploaders with more filesonic upload will get monthly filesonic premium accounts. There's 20 to give away. So don't waste your time and start uploading.

4. Prohibited Links - All posted download links must be genuine working links, without any URL masking and/or timed redirection services, or misdirecting links containing advertising (such as: stealth.to, rapidsafe.net, rapidsafe.de, usercash.com, rsprotect.com, rapidleecher.com,etc). Posts must not contain fake and/or misleading links.(For instance, if the post states "New version of [download title]", "Mirror of [download title]", "Fast Mirror to [download title], etc., the link must be genuine). "Live" or "clickable" hotlinks to outside sites is prohibited (see 5, below), as well as posting URLs to other Forums (except as may be authorized by Staff/Admin).

5. Posting Images - Although we encourage useful posting of images in your Posts, Do Not use excessive unwanted images in your posts. You can use images for cover/poster of downloads & for screenshots. Also, no direct linking of images to developer/software sites is allowed. We do not wish to attract unnecessary attention from them. You are only allowed to link to images in your post only if it is uploaded in your server, or another website host ( such as PicLinker, PhotoBucket, Tinypic, etc). Use of excessively large fonts (should not be over "Size 5" font) are also to be avoided in your posts.

6. Code Your Links -Always "Code" your links, i.e., put your download links in between bb codes. For example:

[code*]your download links here[/code*] --Yes(remove *stars)

7. Passwords/Problem Posts - If the post contains any Password, the Password shall always be clearly shown in the post itself (with no need to search or click elsewhere to obtain Password). Unposted passwords is one of the most common, time-consuming & frustrating problems with posts on our Forum. Please help our Staff avoid this unnecessary waste of time by following this rule. Also, always use "Code", or "Password" tag around password if the password is based on a website link. (By doing this, it disables live or clickable link which will protect our privacy & security from other sites.) If, in your browsing of our site, you find a post without the password (or the post contains any other problem), please use the 'Report' button (located at the lower left hand side of each post) to notify our Staff of the problem.

8. Duplicate/Multiple Postings - It is simply not acceptable to post your question/request more than once, to post it in more than one section, or to create a new thread or Post that is already on the Forum Board. Also, before posting or creating a new thread, Do a Title Search using the eSoft "search" tool (located near the top of the site page), to ensure that the topic/thread (Software App, Game, Movie, Mp3, or whatever), has not previously been posted. In posting your topic choose the section that your question or post best fits in, and place it there and only there. If, after posting, you feel it should be in another section, use the 'Report' button and we'll move it. The Staff also reserves the right to move posts/threads to another section and delete duplicates, as we may deem appropriate.

9. Post in Correct Section - Try your best to post in the appropriate thread/section. Sometimes, we understand, you may have a choice, so choose the thread/section that you feel is most appropriate for your particular question or topic. Do NOT post in more than one section. Don't be upset if we move your post to a more appropriate section.

10. Format Download Titles Properly - Try your best to Format the Titles of your Posts properly, according to the eSoft Guidelines for Formatting Download Titles (below). We understand that these Format Guidelines may seem somewhat technical, and that our requirements may vary from other websites you visit, however they help us index the thousands of Posts/Threads on our site so that they may be more easily searched by our users. Don't be upset if we edit the Title of your post (or send you a "reminder" to format correctly) to conform to our site's requirements.

Note:***Repeated violation of rules may result in warning/infraction/loss of credit/suspension of posting privileges, and/or ban.

Guidelines for Formatting Download Titles for eSoft.in Downloads

Consistency in the format of "Download Titles" is important in order to assist in indexing of Posts on our site, and to allow easier searches by our members; and here are the guidelines.

General (Applies to most, if not all types of downloads)

Download titles must:

• not contain dots or underscores between words (dots in version numbers are still required).
  • Corel.WordPerfect.Office.X3 13.0.0.470 -- No
  • Corel WordPerfect Office X3 13.0.0.470 --Yes
• not contain unnecessary additional symbols (unless part of Title) before or after Title.

• not contain release group names.
  • The Number 23.CAM-SenTeLLo -- No
  • Sonic The Hedgehog-PARADOX -- No
• not contain unnecessary or excessive descriptions, etc.
  • Corel WordPerfect Office X3 13.0.0.470 Office- MS Alternative! -- No
• adhere to (upper/lower) case in words.
  • Corel wordperfect office x3 13.0.0.470 -- No
• anything in brackets or parens must be suffixed, not prefixed.
  • (Xbox 360) Saints Row -- No
  • Saints Row (Xbox 360) -- Yes

Apps (Software)

Download titles must:

• contain version numbers.
  • Corel WordPerfect Office X3 13.0.0.470 -- Yes
  • Corel WordPerfect Office -- No

Games

Download titles must:

• not be suffixed with "PC"/"(PC)" if it is a PC game. It is assumed a PC game.
  • Need for Speed: Carbon (PC) -- No
  • Need for Speed: Carbon -- Yes
• be suffixed with the console name in brackets if not a PC game.
  • Sonic The Hedgehog (PS3) -- Yes
  • Burnout Dominator (PS2) -- Yes
  • NBA Street Homecourt (Xbox 360) -- Yes
  • Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) -- Yes

Movies

Download titles must:

• be submitted in the following format:
  • Movie Name (YYYY) [Movie Format] (where "Movie Name" is the name of the film, and "YYYY" is the year it was released in, and"Movie Format" is the format style of the film).
    • The Departed (2006) -- Yes
    • The Departed -- No
    • Lost in Translation (2003) [DVDrip] -- Yes
    • Lost in Translation -- No
• be suffixed with the foreign language info in brackets, (Other Languages MP3 / Video / Movie)
  • Movie Name (YYYY) [Language]- Where "Language" is the name of the language.
    • Billa - (YYYY) [Tamil]

TV

Download titles must:

• be submitted in the following format:
  • If it is a single TV episode:
    • TV Show Name - SXXEYY
    • TV Show Name - SXXEYY - Episode Name (Where "TV Show Name" is the name of the TV show, "XX" is the season number and "YY" is the episode number).
      • Lost - S03E11 -- Yes
      • Day Break - S01E10 -- Yes
  • If it is a number of TV episodes TV Show Name - SXX - EYY-EZ
    • TV Show Name - Season X - Episodes Y-Z (Where "YY" is the episode number of the first episode in the range of episodes and "ZZ" the last episode
      • Lost - S03 - E01-E11 -- Yes
      • Lost - Season 3 - Episodes 1-11 -- Yes
  • If it is a complete season:
    • TV Show Name - SeasonX
      • Lost - Season 3
