Warning!!!!- ###Infected Self Extracting files####

Please Take This Seriously Since This Has Happened To My Friend He Has lost All Of His Passwords Due to This Including Paypal.So No Joke.And Since He is the One Who told me and Provided The Half of the Content Thanks To Him.So i Thought It Will be Good to Share in CW And Keep CW Members On a Alert

There is currently a big problem on many forums including this one, with People posting infected Self Extracting Video files.

If you download a Rar archive Video which after extracting contains a large exe DO NOT RUN IT!!

If you do so it will take your passwords that are stored in your browser and cookies and attempt to send them out to the internet where your passwords will be used for a hackers benefit. This could mean that all your accounts such as Paypal, Forums, File hosts such as RS, possibly Credit Cards and anything else of value could become Compromised and you MAY loose them or money! Virtually NO Anti Viruses will detect an infection so DO NOT rely on your AV protection! Knowledge is your BEST protection.

If you find one of these video files, Make a post to the thread warning others about the file and inform them not to run the exe! Then Report it immediately as a high priority report and finally Open the Forum Index and find an online Moderator who you can PM.

If you Run or have Ran one of these Files:

Install KeyScrambler and Change ALL your Passwords Immediately, preferably from a Clean PC! Although it is not believed or known to infect a PC after it has run, the possibility exists!

Additional Security Tips:

Keep your RS Premium/Collectors accounts Locked at all times to avoid having your Points Stolen, that is what it is there for! Files and multiple files can be deleted without the lock being removed using RapidUploader.
Strongly consider using KeyPass to store your Passwords for a more secure browsing environment. After which, remove the passwords from your browser.

Warning:

Do not falsely post the above warning to any Video file which does not contain a Self Extracting exe in order to discredit a post or lower their downloads. Doing so May Incur Penalties Against You

I send viruses to my av vendor they usually have a fix within 24 hours there is new stuff coming out all the time no way they can keep up unless we help

No matter what. They can't keep up. But it's good you help them...
The best we can do is hope if we download something infected our "protection systems" have found it before damage. Thanks to Slacker my system now uses a "condom" and "spermicide" LOL
